I recently had the opportunity to contribute to an article called 6 Supplements That Can Help When The Gym Kicked Your Butt with The Vitamin Shoppe on recovery supplements, and it lines up really well with a lot of what we talk about at AIM Athletic on a daily basis.
Recovery is one of those areas that tends to get overlooked or misunderstood. Most people are focused on what they’re doing in the gym, the sets, the reps, the sweat, but the reality is that progress actually happens after the workout is done. The article breaks down some of the more common supplements people use to support recovery, how they work, and where they may or may not fit into a well structured program.
What’s important to understand is that supplements are exactly that, a supplement to the bigger picture. Training, sleep, nutrition, and proper programming will always be the foundation. At AIM Athletic, whether you’re in our Small Group Personal Training, working one on one in Personal Training, going through Active Rehab, or preparing for a season in our Hockey Training programs, the goal is to build that foundation first. From there, things like recovery strategies and supplementation can be layered in to support what you’re already doing.

As always, if you have questions about what makes sense for you, just ask.
